Silk is a born in Canada academic. Silk was born in Fredericton. She was the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actress as well as a producer, director, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna has some of her earliest memories of watching and going to rehearsals for plays. Silk featured in a number of commercials when she was a kid. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas produced two of its first productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk relocated to Toronto to pursue her acting profession in November 1999, and during the next decade, she moved in the following decade to Los Angeles, California. Seth Cooperman met Silk at an Actors Workshop held in Los Angeles in 2007. They were engaged in 2009, and married in an official ceremony in December of that year. The couple got married in Fredericton on the 10th April of 2011, after her decision to convert to Judaism the couple renewed their vows at an Jewish marriage ceremony.
