Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. She has more than twenty albums. Her songs are classified by the label as folk or alternative rock. They also have influences from hip hop as well as jazz and punk. Ani diFranco was the first artist to establish her own record company in 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd of 1970, the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had made acquaintance while studying at an institution called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was revealed that she was scheduled to hold a 3-day workshop on an Louisiana former slave plantation. The majority of us (including us) did not feel impressed by her decision. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days afterward. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger style, but she's worked with many artists and genres from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. New Orleans is her home.
